Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was quite mixed. While the room provided lacked some free amenities, it was incredibly spacious, which I appreciated. However, being placed on the 8th floor with the concierge lounge and a room far from the elevator was a bit inconvenient. The service was sober, lacking the expected friendly touch, and the staff's lack of concern and empathy left me disappointed. The location, although in an actively developing area, was pleasant for relaxation and exploring nearby local options like restaurants and breweries. Unfortunately, the dining experience was subpar, as my morning plans were disrupted by a sudden cancellation without prior notice.
The hotel's location is convenient to highways, U of Iowa, and Iowa City, offering beautiful views of the waterfront. The rooms, though slightly outdated in decor, were clean and spacious. The service was exceptional, especially from staff like Nancy in the concierge lounge and Mama, who works in multiple areas. The dining options provided very good food, and the hotel felt like a small resort with various facilities available.
I had a great view of the city from my room, but the taxes and surcharges were a bit of a downside. The room was fine overall, but I really wanted a king bed with a river view.
